I'm a "continuing" college student fighting through a quarterlife crisis. This blog starts after I hit pretty far down and finally began to make concrete steps to turn my life around. Where before I perseverated on the negative, I'm trying to take a more balanced look at life, writing more about good stuff and things that interest me. Sure, I'm bound to slip up or backslide, but the point of this is to start to regard that as an exception to be dealt with instead of as a crisis.

Beyond the obvious mental health focus, I'm spending much of my time working on my honors thesis and in a psych. lab, both under the ultimate supervision of Dr. Judith the Harackiewicz. The lab's focus is intrinsic motivation, achievement motivation, and goals. My work focuses on the last of these: my thesis is looking at whether different goal orientations correlate with different degrees of specificity of goals, while my lab work is on assisting in a meta-analysis of achievement goal research.

The rest of my time is taken up with working on my acting technique, with the eventual goal of pursuing a film/TV career when I graduate; bellydancing; playing games; and other things that your mother wouldn't like you hearing about.
